It is a web-based system used to prevent plagiarism and irregular citations in student assignments and projects. Assignments, projects, etc. uploaded to the system are automatically compared with sources in a very large data pool and a similarity report is created by identifying citations, similarities, irregular resource usages. In addition to academic databases, journals and publications, Turnitin's data pool includes more than 200 million student assignments and more than 17 billion web pages.
 
The password required for academicians who want to use Turnitin is provided by the Library.
